We the undersigned homeowners and residents on Bethsaida Rd and HWY138, hereby petition for a Traffic light and left turning signal to be installed on Jonesboro Road at Bethsaida Road. This location has had a notorious reputation for being a dangerous intersection in our community. There is a Daycare facility on HWY138 before you get to Bethsaida Rd, and now they are building Phase II of Christian City a senior community in our area. There have been numerous accidents and several deaths at this location, we have requested a report of fatalities but no response from GDOT (GA Dept of Transport) as of July 2022, We have no sidewalks, no efficient or proper lighting for the HWY 138 in addition to the number of speeding cars we see daily, it is hazardous to make a left turn from Bethsaida to Jonesboro Rd (HWY138) and very dangerous to be in the medium, or center/turning lane since we don't have efficient lighting on HWY138. The speeding on HWY138 is outrageous and reckless. Installing a traffic light and tag readers would be the best solution to slow down traffic and keep our communities, neighbors and citizens safe, this is a public health concern, in closing we not only need a traffic light but a left turn signal for Bethsaida to Jonesboro and Jonesboro to Bethsaida Rd.
