Make autism awareness training mandatory in initial teacher training

School is best placed to identify signs and symptoms of autism promoting the chance for early diagnosis and support. also children already diagnosed who are in school need the teachers to understand autism and how they can aid autistic children to be settled in school thus enabling them to learn to their full potential and reduce the anxiety the school environment can cause.
I have contacted the department for education for England and Wales both state that the only mandatory requirement is that a teacher agrees to seek support for any identified special needs and that specific training is at the discretion of the individual school head teacher. So let's be fair to teachers if they are not aware of in this case the signs and symptoms of autism how are they supposed to seek help? So many autistic children are given the 'naughty' label this has got to change.
