STOP the Dementia Home from being built right near Boronia Park Public School

This petition had 12 supporters

There is a plan for a Dementia Group Home to be built at number 29 Earl Street Hunters Hill- directly opposite Boronia Park Primary School. The plan is for at least 10 Dementia patients to reside in a group home. The plans are going through Complying Development which means there can be no formal objections to Hunters Hill Council. It allows the Group Homes Australia to come in and start building a Group Dementia home in a matter of weeks. Is this something you want right next to the school?

Group Homes Australia have a number of these properties spread across New South Wales, several are in main streets or thoroughfare roads. None of the Dementia Homes to date have been built NEXT TO or NEAR a Primary School.

If you go to the Group Homes Australia website you will see listed

"Hunters Hill (Available mid 2019)
We are now accepting deposits."

There are behaviours that dementia patients may display that are quite challenging for an average adult to deal with; let alone the children in our Primary School community.

During the time of building there will be no DOZO ( Drop Off Zone) and with a further increase in traffic and parking for the street the DOZO is in doubt of returning.

There could be ambulances attending the home at all hours including as you take your children to and from school, during recess and lunchtimes and throughout the children's day.

We have no objection to Group Dementia Homes BUT the location of these homes is of vital importance to any community. Please join us in showing your objection to the location of the Dementia Group Home for 10+ residents being built DIRECTLY ACROSS from Boronia Park Public School without any community consultation.

Please share this petition with other parents of the school and local residents
