Hunters Conversation!
Why this petition matters

Hunter is my three year old son who is the most beautiful, loving and wonderful soul.
If I could, I wish I could see the world the way he does in all its beauty and wonder.
Hunter is non verbal & from the age of one has been on the pathway to a diagnosis for Autism. Hunter has many struggles daily which effect not only him but family life and social interactions. Sadly it has been an uphill battle from the beginning to get Hunter and so many children across Scotland the support, help and funding needed for the vital early intervention they so desperately need to cope and thrive in day to day life.
With waiting lists on the NHS for vital services such and SALT, Occupational therapy, paediatricians, Health visitors and many more at horrific timescales some as much as 2+ year referral (this being before coming close to a diagnosis) I’ve now had ENOUGH! We have all as parents of an autistic child had ENOUGH!
I don’t need a piece of paper to tell me my son is autistic I know him better than anyone but for him to gain access to vital services the NHS demand a diagnosis but won’t accept a privately paid for diagnosis by a medical professional.
We need to make a change, we need more funding for early diagnosis of autism and we need more funding towards vital services that are currently struggling to stay active because of our terribly managed government, lack of funding and care about our children and there future!
