Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd class students are entitled to free bus travel; however, this particular bus stops opposite the school on Minmi Road & therefore young children are forced to cross this very busy main road. Besides, that intersection has 3 crossings all very close & the signal to cross one could be mistaken for another which could result in injuries or even fatalities.
Hope you can help.

I am writing in concern to the #1 morning school bus for Edgeworth Public School, which is route 6294 with Hunter Valley Buses.
The route 6294 bus stops opposite the school on Minmi Road, a very busy main road, near the traffic lights and children are expected to cross the main road on their own then make their own way to the school gate. There are 3 crossings on that intersection, all rather close and when one indicates it is ok to cross, it is easily mistaken for the wrong crossing, which could end in fatalities.
Kindergarten (4-6yo), 1st class and 2nd class school students are entitled to free bus travel, however I believe it is too dangerous to allow them to cross the main road.
I am therefore asking for a review of route 6294 be performed to allow the bus to stop on the same side of the road the school is on, at the school gate, where the afternoon bus picks the students up from.
Thank you in advance.
