Humanitarian Corridors in Ukraine

Humanitarian Corridors in Ukraine
On behalf of Ukrainian citizens, we demand an immediate creation of humanitarian corridors for evacuation of civilians - especially children - under the auspices of international organizations in the Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson Oblasts.
The Russian invasion has already caused the biggest humanitarian crisis in Europe since World War II. Russian forces are openly and constantly firing shells and rockets at peaceful cities, residential infrastructure, and educational institutions.
Millions of Ukrainian citizens, primarily women, children, the sick, and the elderly, have found themselves on the brink of total destruction. Russian attacks do not differentiate between military and civilian targets. Russian forces are using rocket launchers and cruise missiles to destroy daycares, schools, colleges, and universities.
Ukraine has already sent three requests to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Red Cross to provide a green corridor to help people affected by the fighting. The Russian military refuses to negotiate the creation of such corridors and continues shelling while international organizations are delaying the consideration of Ukrainian requests.
We ask you to exercise your political power and demand the United Nations and the Red Cross take immediate action to provide for the life and health of affected people; to ensure an immediate delivery of medicines, medical equipment, drinking water, food, warm clothes, and heating accessories; to safeguard evacuation of civilians, especially children; and to ensure access of medical and social workers to provide assistance to all those in need, including the most vulnerable (children, the sick and injured, persons with disabilities) and citizens living alone.
We sincerely believe that we will be heard and tens of thousands of lives will be saved.
