The human right to marriage and family states that you have the right to get married if you are of age and it is consensual. You are allowed to marry anyone you chose no matter the race, nationality or religion of the other person. Unfortunately in many countries people are forced into marriages at young ages and don't get to chose who they marry. In some other countries it is also illegal or not permitted to marry someone of the same sex, which goes against the human right to marriage and family. Obviously we can't change someone's religion or culture for this but we also can't change someone's right to marriage and family no matter what the religion is. The point of our petition is to raise awareness about this issue and to support people around the world who have had this human right taken away from them.
