เนื่องด้วยการมาถึงของ TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist: สตรีนิยมที่กีดกันคนข้ามเพศ) ทั้งในชีวิตประจำวัน สถานที่ทำงาน โรงเรียน สถานที่ราชการ และขบวนการเคลื่อนไหวสิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศไทย ซึ่งก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบทางด้านจิตใจ ขัดขวางขบวนการขับเคลื่อนสิทธิของ คนข้ามเพศ นอนไบนารี่ intersex ด้วย กีดกันพื้นที่ในขบวน และกีดกันจากทรัพยากร อีกทั้งยังลดทอนคุณค่าความเป็นมนุษย์ต่อผู้ถูกกระทำเป็นอย่างมากและถูกกระทำมาอย่างยาวนาน 

TERF (/ˈtɜːrf/ หรือ terf อ่านออกเสียงว่า เทิร์ฟ) เป็นตัวย่อสำหรับสตรีนิยมหัวรุนแรง คำศัพท์ถูกบันทึกครั้งแรกในปี 2008 คำนี้แต่เดิมใช้กับกลุ่มสตรีนิยมกลุ่มน้อยที่มีอุดมการณ์ที่สตรีนิยมกลุ่มอื่นๆ มองว่าเป็นการเหยียดบุคคลข้ามเพศ (transphobic) เช่น การปฏิเสธคำยืนยันว่าผู้หญิงข้ามเพศเป็นผู้หญิง การกีดกันผู้หญิงข้ามเพศไม่ให้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของพื้นที่ของผู้หญิง และการต่อต้านกฎหมายว่าด้วยสิทธิของคนข้ามเพศ .

แม้ว่าคำว่า TERF จะเกิดขึ้นในช่วงปลายทศวรรษ 2000 แต่โดยความเป็นจริงคำนิยามนี้เติบโตจากกลุ่มสตรีนิยมหัวรุนแรงในยุค 1970 หลังจากที่เห็นได้ชัดว่าจำเป็นต้องมีคำศัพท์เพื่อแยกกลุ่มสตรีนิยมหัวรุนแรนเป็นมากกว่าสองกลุ่มคือกลุ่มที่สนับสนุนสตรีข้ามเพศและกลุ่มที่ที่ไม่สนับสนุนสตรีข้ามเพศ ตั้งแต่นั้นมา ความหมายของ TERF ก็ได้ขยายออกไปถึงผู้คนที่มีมุมมองแบบเหยียดบุคคลข้ามเพศที่อาจจะไม่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับกลุ่มสตรีนิยมหัวรุนแรง

ผู้ที่อ้างถึงคำว่า TERF มักจะปฏิเสธคำนั้นหรือพิจารณาว่าเป็นคำหยาบ หลายคนมักกล่าวว่าคำว่า TERF ถกใช้ในลักษณะที่กว้างเกินไปและมีความหมายที่ดูถูกเหยียดหยาม ควบคู่ไปกับการใช้วาทศิลป์ที่รุนแรง เเต่ในทางวิชาการ ไม่มีฉันทามติที่เเสดงให้เห็นว่าคำว่า TERF เป็นคำหยาบหรือคำที่ดูถูกเเต่อย่างใด

Signing petition against TERF

With the arrival of TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist: a feminist who excludes the rights of transgender women from their advocacy of women's rights) in everyday life, workplaces, schools, government offices, and the human rights movement in Thailand which causes psychological effects and becomes the obstruction for the movement of transgender, non-binary and intersex human rights. TERF also degrades the human value of the person of the trans community who often has already been dealing with these problems a lot and still has to go through these harsh treatments. 

TERF (/ˈtɜːrf/, also written terf) is an acronym for trans-exclusionary radical feminist. First recorded in 2008, the term originally applied to the minority of feminists espousing sentiments that other feminists considered transphobic, such as the rejection of the assertion that trans women are women, the exclusion of trans women from women's spaces, and opposition to transgender rights legislation. 

Although the term TERF originated in the late 2000s, it grew out of 1970s radical feminist circles after it became apparent that there needed to be a term to separate radical feminists who support trans women and those who don’t. The meaning has since expanded to refer more broadly to people with trans-exclusionary views who may have no involvement with radical feminism.

Those referred to with the word TERF typically reject the term or consider it a slur; some identify themselves as gender critical. Critics of the word TERF say that it has been used in an overly broad fashion and in an insulting manner, alongside violent rhetoric. In academic discourse, there is no consensus on whether or not TERF constitutes a slur.
