"I am a responsible global citizen.  I am aware of my duties towards the global community.  I pledge to do my bit to eradicate social issues like poverty, inequality, illiteracy, unemployment, corruption and superstition that take humanity away from the path of progress."

This is a pledge taken by students of Std. V of St. John's High School, at the end of an International School Award activity wherein they studied social problems prevailing in countries like India, America, Nepal, Nigeria and Philippines.  They know they cannot do much to solve these problems except pledging to eradicate them and encouraging others too to pledge for the same cause.
