Hold Officers Responsible for Assault on Innocent Teen

On December 9, 2020, Pacey Dumas was at his home when police officers showed up between 4 and 5 in the morning to search the home for weapons. He cooperated, layed down on the ground face-down, while officers searched the home. Without warning, Cst. Ben Todd moved quickly toward Pacey and kicked him in the right side of the head. He was then dragged across the concrete, out of sight of his family to wait for treatment, and was left unconscious and bleeding. Irene, his mother stepped outside when she heard the ambulance arrive and she saw blood on the ground, but no sight of her son. This is assault and battery to say the least. None of these allegations have been tried in court.
After this incident, he was left hospitalized for nine days, recieved surgery to relieve pressure off his brain, and is now awaiting a surgery for a metal plate to cover the hole (one year after the incident). Dumas is seeking justice and wants the police involved to pay for what they did to him. He is asking for $300,000 in damages, $100,000 in aggravated damages, and $20,000 from each officer involved in this heinous crime. Dumas’s lawyer, Heather Steinke-Attia said, “This is one of the most egregious use of force abuses that I’ve ever seen.” After the property was searched, no crime has been held against Pacey or his brother.
He is now coping with the uncertainty of why this happened to him in the first place. This is completely unfair and he deserves justice! His brother Blair and his mother need compensation for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression and anxiety and having the inability to trust police officers for $75,000, which shoud be granted to them. Constable Ben Todd should be imprisoned for attempted murder! Chief Dale McFee and all six other officers need to be held accountable for their lack of care and negligence in the matter. Pacey Dumas deserves all compensation and justice to be served!
