A community services worker employed by COURT Services Victoria is deemed a security risk for working towards prisoner rehabilitation.

32 year old woman employed in a prison-based role has had her access to Victorian wide prisons, in person and remotely, revoked. Despite being involved in an investigation and being exonerated of all allegations made, she has been banned. Two years on and the woman is yet to receive a clear justification as to why she was banned apart from being told she "aggressively advocated" for people in her care. This has significantly impacted her on all levels.

The woman has escalated this matter up to the Minister of Corrections, Natalie Hutchins, and was advised that Corrections Victoria stands firm with their decision. Due to legislative powers, the matter cannot be appealed in Court or via tribunal.

With no history of any misconduct, the woman was targeted after advocating for a prisoner on remand with significant debilitating conditions, who was targeted and disliked by Victorian prison officers.

This ban has impacted her employment, future prospects and significantly tarnished her reputation. Let's get this ban overturned!
