Alternate Marking Scheme for HMB265
Why this petition matters

A number of the students enrolled in HMB265H1-Fall 2020 would like to ask for a weighting change regarding the tutorial quizzes, as many have done poorly. We as the students believe offering an alternative marking scheme with an option where the tutorial quizzes are worth less (lowered from 20% to 15-10%), and the quizzical or HMB assignment to be worth more will be helpful for all students enrolled in this course.
An alternative marking scheme will not only take the pressure off of students during an already extraordinary circumstance with online learning, but it also takes into account the fact that different students excel in different types of assessments. This is also a more accommodating approach that is more individualized for all students.
