Increase Hull’s IV sedation clinic back to once a week for disabled people
This petition had 200 supporters
The Orchard Centre in Hull previously offered a weekly IV clinic for disabled/vulnerable adults, due to funding cuts this is now limited to once a month - resulting in a minimum 18 month waiting list for dental treatment needing to be done under IV sedation.
Once again Hull’s most vulnerable minority group are yet again at the forefront of budget cuts. Hull’s disabled/mental health are being forced to wait a minimum of 18 months for vital dental treatment. This is an important service for the disabled and mental health community to be able to support and maintain good oral health and to be seen in a setting that understands and can meet their needs. Simple services such as fillings, tooth extraction, scale and polish etc; which many see as a day-to-day procedure, cannot be done within a reasonable time frame due to their complex needs and anxieties meaning it has to be completed under IV sedation.
