Denbighshire County Council has recently announced its intention to seek planning permission to create two Gypsy and Traveller sites at Green-gates Farm East,St Asaph. The process the council has followed to identify these sites has lacked transparency. A list of alternative sites and the criteria for assessing the suitability of these sites has been kept confidential. Likewise, the assessment of need appears to be less than robust with key sections redacted from public scrutiny. There has been no public engagement on this very important matter, which is clearly in the public interest. This petition objects to the proposed development of two gypsy and traveller sites at Greengates farm East, St Asaph in the absence of any public engagement to date.
