I have been living on 48th for 11 years. As the traffic has gotten heavier, and faster, we need adequate adjustments to certain areas to accommodate the new changes to our environment. 

There are new drivers heading to school, a steady flow of traffic headed to Grand Rapids/Holland, and to GVSU.

The intersection has seen it’s fair of bad accidents, and is a not very wide intersection to accommodate those who have to turn left (either East/west) from 48th. 

Also, there is a natural slope that doesn’t help things. The road commission last studied it in 2018. It is time for a revamp. 

Please add a timed left arrow for a safer intersection, and better flow for traffic.
