Chelsea Brown started this petition to Hubble Homes

The Hubble Homes built in the Adam's Ridge community have a major foundational issue with the ways the yards are designed in their grading and lack of ability to drain. Currently the yards are designed with an improper slant away from the home to collect in the middle of the yard. Then they drain South into neighboring yards until it reaches the end of the block into the street or common grass areas. Typically, yards are suppose to be designed to help guide water to the front of the house where it can properly drain into the gutters and go down into the street drains. Since Hubble has not done this, the homeowners in the Adams Ridge community have had continuous flooding and draining issues.

Owners have to be in constant communication with their neighbors about watering schedules and timing, which can create unnecessary tension in the community if someone does not want to comply to those standards. It eliminates their rights as homeowners to care for their own lawn within their own abilities. Similarly, it limits the freedom that owners might want to have during the hot summer days to run their sprinklers for family fun in fear of flooding. It's unsanitary to have sitting water for long periods of time, as it can home thousands of mosquitos. All that I have mentioned thus far only highlights our usage of sprinklers, but does not even start to account for rainfall or snow melting.

Lastly, not having this draining issue solved leaves the homeowners liable for any damages that it might occur. For example, if my yard floods and flows into my neighbors yard (with how it is currently designed) and ruins their elaborate garden, I am now responsible financially to replace that garden. Or if the homeowner would like to sell their property in the future, they would have to disclose about the flooding issue. This could become a major issue in selling the property, and they would become financially responsible to fix it.

Hubble needs to aggressively take care of this issue and no longer make up excuses of why we are still experiencing it. They are trying to spend the least amount of money or company time into solving this problem. Because our houses have already sold, they are waiting for the warranty deadline to pass and are no longer concerned with our satisfaction. Ridiculous drains in the yard are not solving this problem and becoming yet another thing that the homeowner must "maintain." When purchasing our property, we were in contract to receive a yard without these types of complications. It is time for Hubble to follow through with their company's promise of excellence and find a quality solution to this issue regardless of the financial burden they will have to face.
