Sunbeam, stop using flammable plastics to make toasters

Today, my toaster could have killed my and my family.
An extra-long four-slice Sunbeam purchased 2016, the toaster's white plastic casing abruptly caught fire while I was toasting a flatbread. It burned with a fierce red-orange flame, giving off black smoke.
I unplugged the toaster and quickly picked it up at the non-burning end. My partner opened the door, and I threw the burning toaster out onto our driveway. The toaster's plastic casing continued melting and burning fiercely, despite the rain, until it was reduced to just a blackened metal frame in a puddle of black slag.
If we hadn't been in the room at the time the toaster caught fire, it would certainly have set fire to our home.
The burned toaster's only unburned plastic was the electrical lead insulation, which charred slightly at the toaster end but (properly) refused to burn. Evidently, the insulated cable's manufacturer (correctly) included flame retardants in the mix. The toaster's white plastic casing did not.
Sunbeam, this is disgraceful. Make your toasters out of a plastic that does not support combustion.
Your toasters are a brand-name product at a brand-name price, the least you can do is make them safe.
