I am Radhika Priyadarshini, my father Sathish Yadiyal 57 year old, assistant manager in Karnataka Milk federation, Manipal, Karnataka, India. He is suffering from NASH (Non alcoholic liver cirrhosis). He is treated from Dr.Vikram Belliappa, Liver surgeon, Vikram Hospital, Cunningham road, Bangalore. In the month of January Doctor has suggested for Liver transplantation, which would cost 25lakh. We even have registered for liver transplantation at Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka for Transplantation.
At present we are arranging for surgery cost, and my father’s friends and colleagues with the goodwill are supporting us with the monetarily. But, as per section 50 of Income tax of India, the donations above received 50,000 other than the blood relatives are taxable ( through telephone spoke with IT person: 18001023738: FAQs Indian tax for gifts :http://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/_layouts/15/dit/mobile/faqs/faq-questions.aspx?key=FAQs+on+Gifts+received+by+an+individual+or+HUF&k= ). There will be short of money for the operation, if tax to be paid from the collected money. I would request for tax exemption for the donation/gifts received for my fathers operation.
