There are $59 billion dollors being spent on social media advertising by brands, yet the 1.9 billion people who give life to such platforms take no share of that. Millennials post between 18-30 posts a months on social media with brands an integral part of their lives, yet no one appreciate the value they are creating. Everyone is taking their share of the social media economy, everyone except the 99.99% of peopple on such platforms. This needs to change. Marketing and advertising organisations should democratise brand engagement and social media; this means brands should reward everyday consumers for their authentic and organic content creation.
