What's with Ayala and the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol Lagoon Park? Will the park remain closed to pedestrians and the thousands who used to enjoy it everyday just because Ayala isn't ready for the grand opening of its Ayala Capitol Center complex or even just the hotel on the northern side of the park?
It's been more than a year since we've been denied use of the park, a difficult year because aside from the closed park, pedestrians in the area have to find their way through road construction work that is also taking forever to finish.
We don't know who holds the funds for the lagoon park development but all of us know that there has been no work done on the park for months, After the landscaping that was done earlier this year, the plants are not being maintained, weeds are flourishing, and dry leaves are everywhere. This beautiful park with our provincial capitol as its crown jewel, has become an irritation and an eyesore to locals and a cause of shame for us when we bring visitors around. And the worst part of all, park gates remain padlocked and the park inaccessible to the people of Negros Occidental.
We have been waiting for more than a year to be able to walk inside the capitol lagoon park again. Ayala Corporation, GIVE US BACK OUR PARK ! ! ! ! !
