Parents know their children best, it's comes with the countless amount of care we put in day in day out , 24 hours around the clock. 7 days a week,
It is our given responsibility as parents to voice out our concerns when our children cannot.
Being admitted to a hospital is a final plea for help when we feel we need it most. You walk in the doors with trust in hands that you will leave with resolution and better health.
What do we do when everything you would assume to be obvious, and you are already at the only place equip and trained enough to do so & they do not do as such. Where so we take our cry for help when it is pushed aside and ignored?
No parent should have to harass nurses or beg any doctors to come and check on a defenceless and vulnerable child or baby, because it should be a given routine.
Training for health staff should be updated for those who do not understand or have any experience with ex premature babies , as they function completely different to healthy full term babies.
Parents should not have to explain countless reasons for worry, other than the simple fast their child does not look RIGHT.
Things should not have to escalate to a point of possible no return, trauma and aggressive in frustration for action to made.
Voice out and be bloody heard, as parents it is our job to do what the little voices can not. Trust your gut because it's sometimes might just save a life. Be heard and receive action, should the focus of health not also include push for prevention rather than solely treatment.
