Eliminate long lines at Kroger

The East Nashville Kroger on Eastland and Gallatin often has only two manned check out lines open with one person working as cashier and bagger. Chaos ensues with four or five carts lined up per line. Manager told me they are trying to push everyone into the self checkout lines, which are also slammed. I buy a lot of produce and do not want to go through the self checkout. Kroger needs supply least five manned check out lines, which should be doable with the current remodeling. Another manager said they cannot find reliable people to work. Kroger's starting salary is $9 per hour, or $18,000 per year. (Trader Joe's pays $15 per hour, or $32,000 per year.) This situation is not the fault of the people who are working at this Kroger. They are working their butts off. We need corporate Kroger to pay better wages, create enough manned check out lines and make serving the needs of all their customers a top priority. This petition will go to Kroger corporate headquarters and Kroger CEO David B. Dillion. Please sign it. We deserve better.
