Imran Ali Arain started this petition to www.pmdc.org.pk

This petition is created in reference to the current change in the examination system from Semester to Annual. We, the students of Sindh Medical College, and affiliates, are vehemently against the sudden change in our ongoing system since it is a drastic modification in the course of our medical education which would ultimately jeopardize our results.
We want to bring into your attention that such a change is uncalled for and implementing a new system to which none of us are familiar with at such a crucial stage, without any prior notice would cause unjustified stress to the entire student body. Considering the colossal course that we would have to cover and revise (without any prior experience of an annual system) would be chaotic at this point.
Moreover, if PMDC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council) has decided to implement annual system at all levels, throughout all medical universities, then the question arises that why are some universities still immune to this change? Why are our current final year MBBS (i.e. batch 2014) exempted from this rule?
Alternatively, if the university management acknowledges its helplessness and chooses to abandon us in this regard we would need your support to obtain a stay-order from the respective courts. These sorts of ‘experimentations’ would endanger our development as good doctors, since it is only through experience that one learns how to adjust into a system of such depth and complexity. It would be harsh and unjust to ignore the student’s predicament in this regard. We would like to request that you implement the Annual system on the upcoming batches and spare the current ones. We thank you for your time and efforts and put our trust in you to solve this issue. Sign and Share please.
