CBSE CLASS 12: NO INTERNAL ASSESSMENT POLICY TO BE ADOPTED FOR THE REMAINING BOARD EXAMS

Good morning everyone, Due to the ongoing covid-19 situation, The CBSE board has declared that they would be cancelling the remaining board exams for class 12 which had been earlier scheduled between  19th March- 31st March. This decision has been taken keeping in regard the safety of the students but not their educational future.

I would like to bring light to various problems that would eventually arise due to this decision.

1. Firstly, taking the internal Marks into consideration for the final board result would not be fair to the students as well as to their future. Different schools might have had varying difficulty levels while conducting their internals.

2. Secondly, many of the students may have given their school internals as 'Practice exams' for the the final board papers.

3. The level of strictness or leniency shown by the school teachers toward checking the internal papers may also vary vastly depending on the school's policy.

4. Even though we have been given a choice to appear for our remaining exams in August, this decision has still not yet been finalized. Also, giving the exams this late will not be feasible for all the students due to the large time gap as well as due to the upcoming college examinations.

This would lead to a lot of inadequacy and unfairness in the final board results that are to be declared in the following week or next.

On behalf of all the students of class 12, we would like to suggest some suitable courses of action relating to these problems that should be taken into consideration as these would be feasible and fair towards the the educational future of all us.

1. Either, except taking all the internal marks into consideration, Final Marks should be given based on the practical examinations conducted by the CBSE board in all the different school as they are conducted fairly and accurately and would give a correct estimation of the board marks as well.

2. The other option could be to take into consideration the average marks or best of 3 OF OUR BOARD EXAMINATIONS to determine the result of the fourth accurately.

I really hope that you consider the appeal of all the students for dropping this policy of taking the internal Mark's into consideration and giving them a fair and just chance for their future.

Thanking you, on behalf of the student body of class 12
