Students from Hill districts of Assam should be exempted from compulsory Assamese subject

Recently, State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Government of Assam has said that Assamese language will be mandatory subject in all schools in Assam till class-x, He however added that students in Tribal areas and Barak valley who do not want to study Assamese subject will be given a choice to opt for Bodos and Bangali respectively, But eh did not mention of giving a choice to opt for Hindi and other Hills tribals language subject as an optional like Assamese, Bodos and Bangali language subject in school till class- x,
From the very beginning till date, students origin from Hills districts of Assam viz. Karbi Anglong & Dima Hasao are given a choice to opt Hindi language subject as an optional subject in schools till class-x, for those who do not want to study Assamese, Bangali, and Bodos.
But, if Government of Assam forcibly impose Assamese language subject to those who do not want to study Assamese, Bodos & Bangali language in school till class-x, then perhaps, it will not only curtail freedom of choice, but it'll also hamper the students academic career till class-x in the coming days, and obviously, it'll further widen the gap from their mother tongue language in terms of writing, reading and communication.
In this concern, we humbly request Hon'ble HRD union Minister of India Shri.Prakash Javadekar, Chief Minister of Assam Shri. Sarbananda Sonowal, Education Minister of Assam Shri.Himanta Biswa Sarma, to seriously look into the matter and students origin from Sixth Schedule areas viz. Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts to be exempted from the said compulsory Assamese language subject and allow the students for a time being to opt the existing Hindi language subject as an optional subject in school till class-x, till we develop & come up with our own karbi and other tribal language subject in school till class-x in the coming days.
