This petition is to replace the current contractor with Head Office food contractor, to improve the quality of food. The charges of food might be raised from the current Rs.50/Rs. 60 to the same as being charged to Head Office employees.

The quality of food is very low for all employees. A good number of the management staff at DPL-2 factory do not eat from the canteen, and prefer to bring their own food from home.

Moreover, the negligent attitude of the current contractor and the unhygienic practices observed in DPL-2 canteen, have further discouraged people from eating there. 

A recent example is when an insect was found in the food, the contractor said that once a lizard fell into the rice as well. He also stated that he can't help it even if a rat gets into the food.
