Local school districts cannot make the decision to mask.  Local superintendents and BOE’s are overwhelmed with protestors spreading misinformation and political propaganda.  With the Delta variant surging it is not safe to send children 4-11 to a maskless environment.  They cannot get vaccinated.  Vaccinated teachers and staff can also spread covid-19.  Children are being hospitalized all over the country and young people are dying of the Delta variant.  Children will catch covid-19 at school and bring it home.  For our public health, the Governor’s office and the NYS BOH need to do their job and protect the citizens of NY and put in a mask mandate for schools.
