HoCo High School #13 Must Be in Elkridge!

(Please only sign this petition if you are from Howard County, MD, as we’d like this to represent the views of our community and not just our ability to gather signatures from random friends around the country/world.)
The last Elkridge High School closed its doors in 1952. Since then, our community has grown by leaps and bounds, and Elkridge residents have been asking our elected officials for a new Elkridge High School for at least the last 20 years. We are tired of our requests being ignored, and of our community's needs being secondary to those of developers. The time for a new high school in Elkridge is NOW.
Our community has had enough of being treated like the "black sheep" of Howard County. We vote and pay taxes just like the rest of the county does, and we deserve the same infrastructure and amenities that other parts of the county enjoy. First and foremost, we need and deserve a high school in our community.
No more excuses. No more "we'll look into it." The longer we wait, the more scarce (and expensive) suitable land becomes. We expect our elected officials to act now - taking immediate, concrete steps to identify and secure a new high school site IN ELKRIDGE within the timeline promised for High School #13.
Elkridge kids can't wait another 65 years!
