Petition update
The Handover.
Nov 30, 2022 —
Dear Signer.
THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support. It is absolutely over whelming, and we could not be more grateful.
Today, at 10am, the parents of the victims handed over the 20 000+ signatures to the representative of the NPA in Cape Town. Today we had our petition acknowledged. Today, their voices were heard for the first time in over a decade.
It is now in the hands of National Prosecuting Authority, to further investigate the situation, and hopefully bring justice to these children and their families.
A special thanks to News24 for their accurate reporting, and for continuing to cover this story and all the updated steps that we take. An even bigger thanks to the amazing team at change.org, in specific, Lazola. She has put in so much hard work to make this happen and we could not have done this without her.
We will be sure to keep you all updated with any further news. Once again, thank you for helping these families find their voices.
Keep fighting for people power!
Politicians and rich CEOs shouldn't make all the decisions. Today we ask you to help keep Change.org free and independent. Our job as a public benefit company is to help petitions like this one fight back and get heard. If everyone who saw this chipped in monthly we'd secure Change.org's future today. Help us hold the powerful to account. Can you spare a minute to become a member today?
