On July 18, 1989, Rebecca Schaeffer, a rising actress was about to be delivered a script for Godfather III at any moment. It could change her life. But what happened that morning coincidentally was that she unknowingly answered the door to her apartment to a stranger two times. He was a stalker who got her address through a PI from the DMV and his brother bought him a gun. The person went to her apartment the first time, felt dissatisfied. He went to eat nearby and came back an hour later with a gun loaded with hollow point bullets. He knocked on the door and said, “I forgot to give you something.” He then pulled out his gun and shot her in the chest. According to the suspect, she screamed “Why?” then fell to the ground, in shock. She died shortly thereafter at a hospital.                      I would like for Rebecca Schaeffer to have a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame because she deserves a Star, contributed in a brief career to adding great depth to the characters she played in movies and creating millions of fans from the sitcom “My Sister Sam” on CBS on television. Her exuberance on screen touched her fans deeply and she should not be forgotten for her work that she gave.
