On November 6th, 2021, 4 girls at Houstons bar in Brandon MB, got drugged on the dance floor, leaving them defenseless and vulnerable. Luckily someone saw and was able to help them and got the boys kicked out. The bar didn't take their name or information and did not call the cops. The girls that were drugged were hospitalized, and were able to talk to the police on their own in the hospital. Unfortunately, there was basically nothing they could do to help as we did not get a clear visual of either of the guys as they were wearing masks. I feel Houstons (or all bars but let’s start small) should be offering something like lids, or covers for the top of your drinks so there is less of a chance of this happening in the future. The bar should have gotten their information and should have been told to never return. This is unacceptable and so scary for everyone! This may not have been Houston's fault, but Houstons should be taking partial responsibility, as it is their job to keep everyone in their establishment safe, and I feel they could have handled the situation a lot better. With how things are going in this world, things will only get worse before things get better. When I go out, I wanna know my friends and I are all safe and not afraid, and worrying someone is going to get hurt or hurt us. This doesn't just happen to women, men are victims of it too and by signing this petition we may be able to make a difference and make sure this isn’t as commen and to prevent this from happening to anyone else in the future. Everyone deserves to go out and have fun without worrying that they or their friends are going to be drugged and hurt. Things could have gone so differently for these girls, and there could have been more victims if someone had not witnessed and spoken up about the situation. Please share!
