Block variance request at NW corner of Chimney Rock and San Felipe

Retail and office development is planned for the NW corner of San Felipe and Chimney Rock. Although the parcel of land is technically in the Briarcroft subdivision, it has a much greater impact on the residents of the Tanglewood subdivision. The area already has a glut of retail and office space and is immediately adjacent to a residential area. The parcel of land involved currently is being utilized for residential use and has a residential setback. The developer is requesting a variance to the setback so that building can extend closer to the street. This will negatively impact home values in the immediate area. Because of the anomaly of these 3 parcels of land belonging to another, non-contiguous subdivision, the residents of the Tanglewood subdivision have had no say in the matter. Signing this petition gives the residents of Tanglewood a voice in this issue negatively impacting their homes.
