Make The Houston Car Community Safe For Everyone

Make The Houston Car Community Safe For Everyone
Why this petition matters

Every night in the City of Houston, company warehouses, local intersections, and even state highways are filled with car enthusiasts participating in activities that are deemed illegal and sometimes dangerous to spectators. These events have caused our City and local Law Enforcement to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to ensure that the participants are held accountable for their actions. From local Law Enforcement Officials creating Special Task Forces to raid these events to the City of Houston seizing vehicles of the participants, permanently. Thats just it though. There are hundreds if not thousands of participants in these activities. Although our Law Enforcement Officials dedicate every night to trying to prevent these takeovers, and even being successful with a few arrests, these events are continuing constantly with no ending in the near future. As one group falls, another rises.
From the outside looking in, people judge us as being criminals or bad people. In reality majority of us are good people who have a passion for cars so much that it really is our life. For some the car community has helped them overcome depression and suicide, create lifelong friendships, helped them to get out the house away from self isolation. For others the car community has helped to create very successful businesses for the community such as the Baytown Raceway, local tire shops, and highly profitable events such as the annual TX2K Event. For me the car community has helped me to gain the confidence I lost in myself in order to leave a very toxic and abusive relationship. For many of us this is our passion, our escape, our safe place, our future.
Speaking on behalf of the Car Community and My Team, we want to help the City of Houston and HPD make our Car Community safe again for everyone. My Team and I have been working endlessly, creating a SOLUTION that will benefit not only the Houston Police Department but, the Car Community and civilians as well. We have created business plans as well as layouts to produce a Private Property with all of the neccessary safety precautions needed to insure that no one else gets hurt during these activities. With the help of our Mayor, Sylvester Turner, our HPD Chief of Police Hubert "Art" Acevedo, our local Department of Public Safety, and our community we can really work together to help start making our Car Community safe and enjoyable again.
To summarize, all that we want is to impact our community in a POSITIVE and SAFE way while doing what we have a passion for. Cars entertain all age groups from every background and we want to make this property safe and enjoyable for those that participate, families and their children.
By signing this petition you are not only helping remove these events from our cities streets but, you are also becoming a part of something that the community and city officials will love and appreciate!
