I am writing this in hopes change can be made and voices can be heard. I am writing this in hopes the message is made clear and brought to the state of Florida's governor Ron DeSantis. 

I am writing this message because I know I and thousands of other families in Florida are being impacted by the rental housing crisis in Florida. Not only am I a single mother who works full time, but I'm also a renter in the state of Florida. 

In the last year and a half I have not only been one of the many faces of the rental crisis in Florida I am living it daily in the past 3 years of renting my rent has gone from $1,475 to $2,240 for a 2/2 not only is this now out of my 3x the monthly rent I am now stuck in limbo because not only do I not make enough to afford rent I also make to much money to receive any type of government assistance as a single mother. I have looked into moving but with your average 2/2 rentals costing more than $2,500 a month I am now stuck with having to stick it out with where i'm at because If I didn't i'd become homeless. It's becoming pretty apparent that due to mass cash purchasing of property by large corporations and the lack of rental laws and renter protection laws that your average person you'd go to buy coffee from or the teachers that teach our children to the person you see working behind a customer service desk or even the cashiers at your local grocery store to just basically the people that help make Florida a great state are essentially being pushed out of the state because the rental market no longer has a home for them or me. 

So I am writing this to say I will not stop fighting for rental laws and rental yearly caps that someone's rent can be raised. I will keep fighting to get this to Governor Ron DeSantis. But the only way to have our voices heard is by sharing this message and signing this.
