Ban EU referendum songs and poetry now

During the Scottish independence referendum the eyes and ears of the people of Scotland were assaulted by abominable poetry and songs written by people "engaging with the debate". The offences against rhyme and metre led to people who like poetry and music to take a variety of serious steps - sometimes including tutting very loudly when on public transport. The date of the EU referendum in the UK was announced only a few days ago. Already journalists have written awful poetry for online only publications and songs have been uploaded to the youtube. It is only a matter of time before Mike Read acts. We cannot take that risk. Accordingly, this petition calls on the House of Commons and poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy to take a stand. Suppress this poetry before a metrically inept sonnet is committed. Ban EU referendum poetry and songs now.
