Los estudiantes y profesionales de la salud que atienden a las mujeres en sus partos deberían tener un comportamiento intachable que respete en todo momento las necesidades físicas y emocionales de la mujer y su bebé/s. La violación de estos derechos constituye a menudo un delito y en todas las ocasiones evidencia una mala práctica, es un abuso de poder y perpetua el abuso de las mujeres en situaciones de vulnerabilidad. Esto está reconocido por la Organización Mundial de la Salud y se conoce internacionalmente como violencia obstétrica. Es absolutamente inaceptable y un delito fotografiarse con las usuarias del sistema de salud o sus bebés durante su estancia en las maternidades sin su conocimiento y su autorización, es simplemente improcedente. Y publicarlo en las redes junto con comentarios sexualmente discriminatorios es francamente preocupante, intolerable y una vergüenza para su hospital. Por todo ello sugerimos que hagan ustedes una investigación y tomen las medidas que crean oportunas. En cualquier caso esperamos que sus medidas sienten precedente para que las nuevas generaciones de profesionales ejerzan su trabajo desde el absoluto respeto por las usuarias y sus familias, y por su profesión.

English - -- Health professionals and students dealing with mothers should have an impecable behaviour at all times that respects the emotional and physical needs of women in labour and their babies. Violation of their rights many times constitutes a crime and at all times shows an abuse of power, a bad practice and perpetuares the abuse of women in situations of vulnerability. This is established by the World Health Organisation and it is internationally known as obstetric violence. It is absolutely unacceptable and illegal to take pictures of the women or babies admitted to the Maternity Services without their knowledge and without their consent. It is just simply inappropriate in the professional interaction. And to them publish it on social media with sexually discriminatory comments it is extremely worrying and an embarrassment to any hospital. For all that, we petition to your hospital to investigate this student and for you to take the measures that you consider appropriate. In any case we hope that those measures will establish a precedent from which the new generations of professionals exercise their profession in the most absolute respect for the birthing women and their families, and their profession.
