The uphill right hand turn from Cranstons Road can not always see oncoming traffic because of two large pine trees sitting near the apex of a bend in the road blocking visibility. These are on the Hornsby side of the road at 1193 Old Northern road.

Close up of the trees at 1193 Old Northern Road
The group of pine trees located on the bend, within the road reserve of Old Northern Road diagonally opposite Cranstons Road, on the Hornsby side of the road obstructs sight distance to level that is not consistent with the minimum standards for Austroads Safe Intersection Sight Distance.
Previous accidents (known)
*A previous triple fatality occurred at the corner around 15 years ago
*July 31, 2017 a 2 car accident http://www.snarl.com.au/incidents/single/297597
There are a lot of families with children on Learners and Provisional licences in the Cranstons Road catchment that share my concern about accidents resulting from the large trees in front of 1193 Old Northern Road
This is complicated by the fact that, often, north bound cars do not observe the 60 klm/hr speed limit and the location is on a bend that may be unsafe for traffic cameras.
The Hills Shire council has requested Hornsby council to act on May 30. As of August 1, Hornsby Council has still not committed to remove the trees.
