Honorable Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi has always supported Fitness through various National level movements like Fit India movement and declaring 21 June as Yoga day.

Today in this pandemic, these forerunners of movements - Fitness instructors, personal trainers, Group fitness instructors, Yoga instructor are on the verge of being badly affected. These people made sure that our India stay fit and have helped people stay healthy with body and mind. Most of these fitness instructors are freelancers and are daily wage earners, they get paid, per class, per hour they teach. Freelancer personal trainers and group class instructors though are highly committed towards member's fitness but due to the nature of job they are not on payrolls of any particular gym and thus due to lockdown their daily earning have stopped. Not to mention many of them are from very humble background and have picked up fitness as their full time career after its being recognized as a growing and fulfilling sector.

Fitness industry in India is the most unorganized one, with no department or ownership for this industry, Freelancer suffer ghastly in this lockdown. Where other registered companies have got the rebate of GST and have also paid their salaried employeed, freelancers are struggling with every day ration, food and house expenses with no income. In addition fitness centers being, highly susceptible to being a hot-spot due to hygiene concerns, it may be the last one to restart when India will open again.

I request, Honourable PM Narendra Modi to please consider Fitness professionals in the stimulus package announced by Govt of India and also encourage all partner industries to release some fund towards them during this lockdown period.
