The People of Ontario are at the tipping point for failures in economics, social services and legal integrity based on the current legislative assembly.

That is why we URGENTLY REQUEST the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario to dissolve the Ontario Legislature and call for a general election to be held as soon as possible; as allowed for by Ontario Elections Act¹ “Powers of Lieutenant Governor ...including the power to dissolve the Legislature...when the Lieutenant Governor sees fit.”

Following is some additional context to the various impacts to our public and the intentional degradation to the fabric of Ontario.

» Economic impacts – funding is being taken from many areas and being given to elitists pursuits that do not benefit Ontarians equally (i.e. subsidizing horse racing industry). Additionally, removing money from Ontarians pockets (reduced overtime pay, reduced medical benefits, interest on student loans). Overall these have led to a reduced credit rating internationally as a sign of our provincial economy.

» Social impact – the at-risk people in Ontario are having many supports removed, and will create ongoing harm to both poverty and crime cycles. (removal of: medical benefits, basic income pilot, educational cuts, OSAP changes, reduced funding for safe water, Halted opening of safe-injection sites, Scrapped Indigenous curriculum review )

» Legal integrity – approving a budget that embeds law changes making it nearly impossible for the public to hold the Ontario Government accountable for its choices — additionally removing legal aid funding for the same people directly impacted by the social issues above. (removal of: Safety commissioners: environmental commissioner, French-language services commissioner and the child advocate, patronage appointments)

Again, by signing, we URGENTLY REQUEST the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario to dissolve¹ the Ontario Legislature and call for a general election to be held as soon as possible.
