Nicole Doan started this petition to Honourable Adriana LaGrange (Minister of Education)

I would like the children and staff of our schools to have a choice of whether or not he or she wears a mask.

There is evidence that masks may prevent the spread of COVID-19; however, there is also evidence that wearing masks may increase health risks if they are not worn, washed and/or stored properly. “A cluster randomized trial of cloth masks compared with medical masks in health care workers” was published in 2015. The results of the study found “moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks, and poor filtration may result in increased risk of infection”.

There are numerous pros and cons to wearing masks in our schools. I am not against the use of masks, but we should have the right as parents and staff of the school to decide whether or not masks are worn.
