With no thought his own safety, Tobias Ellwood MP rushed to the aid of an injured Police Officer giving him CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation after the terrorist attack on the Houses of Parliament on the 22nd March 2017.
He is a modern day hero of the highest order and I feel we must honour his bravery.
The images of Tobias' sad, ashen, shocked face will stay with me forever. And I know I am not alone.
There were so many heroes on 22nd March - the staff from St. Thomas’s Hospital, the London Ambulance Service and others. My heart goes out to all those police men and women who lost a colleague and a friend.
This incident sent ripples across the capital, the country and the world.
All of them deserve our praise and thanks. For me, Tobias Ellwood personifies all that is great and good, human and selfless. Let us honour him.
