it is estimated that 1 out of 5 people suffer with a type of Mental Illness 11 people commit suicide each day. That is just the statistics for Canada. If we look at the younger generations specifically, as of 2015, there was a total of 667 children in their elementary years who committed suicide. We are talking children under the age of 14 years, which could’ve been prevented if they had the education needed. Mental illness has such a negative stigma towards it, that our youth have nowhere to turn to.  Lets implement some change into the curriculum surrounding the topic of mental health and including it so that the youth can understand it and seek help if they are affected by it, so that another tragedy that may occur won’t just be another statistic.
