There is a company that is  trying to build a six story sprawling, residential building in our small residential valley that is zoned for single family, 2 story homes.  The complex is planned to replace the very small and only strip mall in the valley consisting of less than 12 businesses.. We need/want the restaurant, mechanic, and other merchants to stay in our community, There is no other place in our valley for them to relocate.  Using the mall land for a HUGE SPRAWLING SIX STORY building will deprive us of the few small business we have. It will almost double our population, not to mention the traffic congestion. There is no other business property within miles.The owner of the property, Kamehameha  Schools, is one of the 10 largest charitable organizations in the world. It does not need the income from this huge building in this small valley. Now that they have sold the fee simple land to the single family home owners, it is wrong to change the makeup of our community,with a monster building that will replace our very small strip mall, not to mention the zoning! They have plenty of other land that would be suitable in numerous other places in Hawai'i. Please sign our petition.
