plight of senior citizens : rail travel in Indian rlys.
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
I am 77 and my wife is,70 yrs.
We both have had fractures in our legs.
We still wish to travel by Indian Rlys.
We however find it very difficult and nervous to catch a train at the stn., or go out of stn. at the end of the journey, when the platform is announced just 5 mts. before arrival of train and we are to climb up and down over bridge.
The following is therefore suggested .
Mention of senior citizen being already there in the reservation form, provide an option for requirement of platform carriage in the form.
Assign separate space in the executive lounge for them to be picked up by battery operated platform carriages and transported to required platform, well in time. ( I find such vehicles being used to sell odds at the platform ! )
This would be highly appreciated and our anxiety of journey would be much avoided.
Of course we should be asked to remain at assigned lounge well in time.
We should be sure of being provided the carriage for us together with our luggage.
When would I hear this being provided ?
I wish to take a journey next month if this is provided.
May I expect an acknowledgement from you to this letter ?
