Why this petition matters

Started by Simon Wheeler

An ongoing secret enquiry into the Town of Cambridge over 2 years in the making remains incomplete offering no report or findings yet the Minister is taking punitive action against the communities Elected Members.

Whilst freezing rates for 3 years and holding uncontested elections the Town of Cambridge has been trying to compel the Administration to carry out it's duty and obligations in line with the Local Government Act.

The Administration are members of Local Government Professionals(LGP). LGP, WALGA and the State Government have a signed partnership agreement yet the state government is conducting this inquiry, it is not independent, it is not transparent, it can not be impartial nor democratic.

The community request that the Minister withdraw the notice to show cause and appoint an independent reviewer to finalise the report. Please register your support by signing this petition.
