Save Perkins Beach

We are opposed to the dumping of desalination waste brine from the Denmark River Dam by the Water Corporation onto Perkins Beach, Torbay.
Up to 9.63 million litres of waste brine will be discharged onto Perkins Beach over a six month period during each year of operation.
Perkins Beach is a pristine part of Albany’s coastline that is used by surfers, fishers, beach goers, tourists, the nearby Camp Kennedy, and forms part of the international renowned Bibbulmun Track
This narrow stretch of coastal heath that includes Perkins Beach forms a vital coastal wildlife corridor that runs from West Cape Howe National Park through to Torndirrup National Park.
We now ask the Minister that other options be investigated as disposal sites for this waste.
