matt vercoe started this petition to Hon Kris Faafoi k.faafoi@ministers.govt.nz

There are more and more instances where the general public see our government act in ways that represent the wishes of companies, corporations and the government itself rather than representing the people who voted for them.

Our representatives need reminding every day that their work is to represent the citizens of New Zealand and not the private interests of these other entities.

We are calling on you Hon Kris Faafoi to make it a rule for any media outlet receiving funding from the government to refer to all members of parliament by either their ministerial title or as representatives of the people and never to refer to them as "leaders","decision makers" or any other term that would imply their holding power over the people they are a representative voice for.
This clear reminder of holding a representative role should extended throughout government to include every sitting member of parliament including the Prime Minister.
