Clean-Up the Fiji Football Association

Football is the most loved sport of arguably more than 30% of Fijians, making it the second most popular sport in the country, after Rugby. The sport, unfortunately, has been captured by a group of individuals, who appear to have no ambitions nor the capacity to enable the sport to achive its potential. The country has steadily been sliding down the FIFA ranking charts and now stands at an embarrassing 195 out of 209 nations, surpassed even by smaller nations including those of the Pacific. This is a substantial decline from the 120th position Fiji had twenty years ago.
The extent of corruption, unethical dealings, inconsistent decision making, cronyism, favouritism and disregard of regulations and procedures at Fiji FA is staggering and unless addressed, will continue to undermine the potential of the sport.
Efforts to get redress through footballing channels have proved futile and state intervention may be the only resort to clean up the organisation and allow the sport to flourish in this country. The sponsors of this petition will provide you a detailed plan for reforms to ensure that there are minimum disruptions to the functioning of the organisation and Fiji's participation in international competitions.
We, the undersigned, request and mandate you as football enthusiasts to intervene in the affairs of Fiji Football Association, liberate the sport and save it from imminent doom.
