Elliot Lakers: Would you please sign this petition to help our city receive information about COVID-19 cases quicker and with more specifics about location? This will help protect health in our retirement community while ensuring the opening of local businesses and facilities is not unduly delayed as restrictions are lifted.

Thank you for the good work that is being done by your government during this COVID-19 crisis.

This petition respectfully requests that you help our city officials receive information about COVID-19 cases that is more timely and geographic-specific. We believe this will help our local leaders protect both the health of people and the interests of local business.

It is our understanding that presently, it takes 48 hours before Algoma Public Health informs our civic leaders of a new case and the location is very broad, “Elliot Lake and area”, which includes eight communities.

We believe that more timely and geographic-specific information now, will help our civic leaders respond in the best way to align with your vision, “Ontario’s Government is working for the People and helping to make life better for families and businesses across this province.”
