Rajasthani is closer to Gujarati than to Hindi. Both Rajasthani and Bhojpuri have great works of literature similar to the scheduled languages of India. Unfortunately, so many great novels, plays, and songs are being forgotten due to the lack of official recognition for these languages.

Rajasthani, and Bhojpuri should be officially recognized in the 8th schedule so that the great works of art written in these languages are not forgotten and are taught to the next generation. There is a lot people can learn from these languages.

However, many politicians have the agenda of inflating the number of Hindi speakers by considering Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Garhwali, etc. as dialects of Hindi. This is because many Indians have believed the myth that official recognition of Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, etc is a threat to Hindi. The truth is people won’t forget how to speak Hindi just because their mother tongue is officially recognized. Many people in Gujarat, Punjab etc can still speak Hindi along with their state’s official language. This is because the human mind has the capacity to learn many languages. Therefore official recognition of Bhojpuri and Rajasthani (my mother tongue) poses no threat to Hindi. Hindi should still be taught in schools along with the regional language, like Bhojpuri or Garhwali. Learning multiple languages has great cognitive benefits.

Because we have a rich history and culture. All other states talk in their mother tongue but we are not recognised. Why? If Gujarati, Tamil can be recognised then why not Rajasthani. Rajasthani is a vibrant culture for which language is important. We are a glorious state. How can our state leaders not speak in it. Seen that in Gujarat or Maharashtra or Karnataka?
